21.05.2009 Concern Ganaftogaz reportOn Thursday, 21st of May, at the oil depot of Zakarpattya branch of OJSC Concern Galnaftogaz in Khust during planned reservoir cleanout as a result of short circuit inflammation of 95 octane fuel evaporation in the reservoir with total volume of 700 m3 occured. The inflammation was liquidated as soon as practicable due to timely reaction of the oil depot personnel and concerted actions of Ministry of Emergencies measures staff. Firemen rapidly conducted a foamy attack, consequently preventing the overthrust of the fire on nearby reservoirs. Upon inflammation the cleanout mechanic, L'viv resident was injured - right arm skin burns of II-III degrees of complexity. «We have so-called PLEC (the plan for liquidation of emergency conditions) on every object, whether it is an oil depot, or a filling station, – the director of Concern Galnaftogaz Oleksandr Hehedysh says. – In these PLECes the actions of every employer are expressly prescribed in the case of origin of an emergency situation. Actually only due to the timely reaction of personnel on the fire, and certainly, due to the competent work of Ministry of Emergencies representatives we succeeded to avoid more drastic consequences of the inflammation on Khust oil depot».
